Artemisio is a Chicana artist, poet, and grassroots organizer.

She is a 30 Under 30 Changemakers Award recipient, a Brower Youth Award Winner, a Divest Ed Fellow, a Miller Scholar, and Santa Fe’s 2020 Youth Poet Laureate.

In 2019 she co-founded YUCCA (Youth United For Climate Crisis Action), a nonprofit working to hold elected officials accountable to future generations and impacted communities. At YUCCA she’s served as a Board Director, Steering Committee Member, and Policy Director. Artemisio is also a founding member of the School of Now and was a Co-Director of Scribbler Santa Fe.

Her artwork has been shown by El Museo Cultural De Santa Fe, The Zolma Lofton Gallery, The Zane Bennet Contemporary Art, and The Napa Valley Museum Yountville, among others. Poems and articles by Artemisio have appeared in publications that include Subnivean Magazine, Inlandia Literary Journal, Tumbleweeds Magazine, and Magma Poetry. In 2020 one of her essays received First Place in Specialty Articles from the New Mexico Press Women Communications Contest. She has been quoted in publications that include Current Affairs, Refinery29, the Audubon, the Guardian.

Artemisio is currently pursuing a double major in Sociology and Studio Arts at Washington University in Saint Louis.
